About
This project takes inspiration from pop culture references, movies, and video games to illustrate the fears of ageing.
This digital zine was inspired by the cultural and personal implications of turning 30 as a queer person.
This project takes inspiration from pop culture references, movies, and video games to illustrate the fears of ageing.
To start, I had to collect inspiration photos from video games, memes, and Japanese clothing catalogues. Once I had created a moodboard for the project, I worked on the various layouts and assets required to illustrate a character creation screen, a product reccommendation page that would be seen in traditional magazines, and refined the color scheme required to have a cohesive look.
The best way to make the project cohesive was to stick with the chosen color scheme. Initially the character creator and Grindr page had colors that were different from the rest of the zine, although keeping their original color schemes were useful for viewers to get the reference, changing them to fit the zine's aesthetic and colors allowed for a more cohesive and more original look.
